Pez was there at the very beginning of Battle of the Agile bands.
Tonight he’s with Mentorloop rocking vocals and guitar \m/
Mentorloop tear up Torn from Natalie Imbruglia 1997 then Shoot right to the Heart from Bon Jovi 2002.
Mentorloop bust out an amazing version of “I will survive” 1978. With a bit of thrash. Love it.
“Am I ever gonna see your face again”?
…

Bring on the girl power. Seek are rocking out tonight.
Vocals are on point and the drummer is a beast!

Jolly and Angus are the vocals tonight for REA. Smashing the classic Are you gonna be my girl?
Murder on the dance floor seems to be a theme tonight. REA are killing it.
Yay 1987 What’s my Scene? Great song choice. Hoodo Gurus rock.
Hor Property end their set with “Living on a Prayer”. Classic banger.

Jumbo aren’t competing tonight. They’re the Brisbane winners of Battle of the Tech bands.
Fantastic performers, they kicked off an Oz Punk rendition of Smoko from The Chats 2017.
Mr Brightside is always a pub rock anthem winner song!
They flew down to Melbourne at their own expense and we salute them for braving a Melbourne winter to entertain us tonight.
Respect.
Is AI taking over? We gotta Take the Power Back! (RATM) Yeaaahhh!

Open Universities Australia band have been continuously grooving at Battle of the Agile Bands for several years now. They may or may not rule the world (Tears for Fears classic) but will they rule the battle tonight? That remains to be seen. The Stevie Wonder classic Superstition took us back to 1972.
Further back to 1970 with Dancing in the Moonlight. Love it. Where are we going next?
Ooh. 2006. When you were Young from the Killers. Great song choices from Continuously Grooving.
Open Uni murdered their last song (in a good way) with the Sophie Ellis-Bextor classic from 2001. Love the disco drums work. 😉

Battle of the Agile/Tech bands has begun with a ceremonial passing of the baton. Liz has done a fantastic job of running BotAB for the last few years.
She did a shoutout to the Lonely Planet band Slabotomy which is where this whole thing started. This year Battle of the Tech Bands are running the event, with proceeds going to Youngcare.
Let’s go!
